can i run Live in dual screen a la Logic/Cubase
with the 2 different views on seperate screens?
just want the mixer controls at hand in arrange view

no but you can get the mixer controls in arrangement view on the right of each track. not as visually nice, but they do work.

so instead of buying 2 22" displays buy a 44" display instead.. lol

well, yeah, i'm dreaming of an own 30" display with 2560x1600 resolution. would be sweet for the suite..

currently in process of building i7 920 12gb purely music rig, was planning on dual 22", may change it to a single larger one then, or move to a new DAW..

single large rocks anyways, independent on daw

2. Use screen two for solitaire (jk?)

and perhaps 3. I'm extremely curious about the future of multi-touch! Maybe get one screen now, save a spot of money for a multi-touch monitor when they become affordable Who knows what kind of workflow you would then be capable of!!

for the solitaire, i have tiny 9" screens externally. for chat windows, or stuff, perfect

and yea, a launchpad sized touchscreen would be awesome.. thinking of lemure-emulators

cant remember source but i do remember reading some guys conducted tests and determined that anything biggerthen 24" is generally counter productive

well, that test was about general people with generic usage, like secretaries writing mails and documents in word, etc.

if you would have done this test in a photostudio where all use 30" and photoshop to edit their pictures, the test would be in favour of the 30" screens.

yes, you have to get used to actually put them to good use. but depending on the app, there is much gain. ableton live would be one of those apps (less scrolling in the effect racks i've build, more tracks on one page, etc..). visual studio would be another one. etc..

Or you can get Usine to work with a touch sensitive screen.

Of course it would still be handier to be able to "undock" the arrangement and sessions views so you can see both at the same time.
