how to access the M4l demo

existing owners of live 8 might find the following instructions on how to access the m4l demo useful:
1. get live 8.1 and max 5.1 (the max 5.1 available on cycling74 includes the max 5.1 runtime). install both both applications.
2. start live 8.1. go to preferences. select the user account licenses tab. under start options change "show all demo choices at startup" from no to yes.
3. close everything out and quit live.
4. open live 8.1 and opt to start in demo mode. you can't save, but all the m4l funsies will be available. if they aren't available, that probably means that you need to install the m4l live pack content manually. in live, select file, go to install live pack and browse to where you installed Max 5.1. Find the support folder. Inside that folder should be a live packs folder, and inside that folder is the .alp with the m4l content.

Going to try this when I get home.
Can you clarify how you opt to start in demo mode. Might be obvious when I try, but don't remember seeing the option before.

Oh no, I'm downloading Max 5.1! What tbe hell am I doing?! Am I mad?!
I just know I'm going to want this, but can I risk nudging up the credit card another £225? Still can't resist having a play,,,,

Sorry, there's no official demo mode for Max For Live at the moment - but it will come soon.

does this mean i can stop looking forward to experimenting with the demo when i get home from work tonight? or will my unintentional work around still. . . err, work?

No work here either... hope the official demo comes out soon.. will like to know it runs on my system before buying... since I could of never gotten max running on my comp.

My 30 day MAX trial is now ticking away. I do hope this won't prevent me from demoing M4L if it runs out.
