Multi Channel Plug in Output Support in the future?

Post by majorjoy » Tue Nov 24, 2009 4:39 am

I would love to use Antares Harmony EFX with Live 8 but there is currently no support for multi-channel plug in output. :( Love the rest of Live 8 though and hope I can use Harmony EFX with it soon...

You have to set an audio track "input from" the track you have Harmony on, then below that choose your output.
Set monitor to in.

Its a valid request as its also needed to create a surround panner, from the MaxforLIVE FAQ:

"Audio I/O
Max for Live uses the same objects as Pluggo for audio I/O, plugin~ for audio input and plugout for audio input. However, all audio I/O in Max for Live is currently stereo, as is true for all Live devices."

but there were Pluggos that internally linked multiple instances of plug ins, so maybe there is a workaround for that.....

Multiple in, multiple out support please

I would love to see this added as well. I'm shocked that the Harmony EFX plugin runs fine in something like Garage Band and not Ableton. sucky

Absynth surround is useless in live, because you can't route the extra outputs to some audio tracks like you cvan do it with other plugs. So yes, I want it !!

However, all audio I/O in Max for Live is currently stereo, as is true for all Live devices."
Doesn't that mean that live's output is never mono?
Multiple outputs from vst is already possible in live.
If you want to use that as surround you have to send them to specific outputs of your audiocard.
Specific surround support is not available, so you might request that instead.

That's what I request.
I can use multiple outputs say from Kontakt for example, and route them as 'audio from' on audio tracks, but it doesn't work with Absynth surround, as I can't choose the alternate outputs as sources.
You're right, we're asking for real surround plug ins support.
