So many decent free plugs at the moment, I'd save the cash...

But on the other hand loads of NI stuff for peanuts at the moment. Massive $99, Reaktor $99.

a good reverb, that is the weakest of the ableton plugs... (unless you want/like the sound of a fart in a coca cola can...)
but you do not need to spend a lot of money... smartelectronic's ambience is pretty good and a shareware... otherwise instruments...

check as mentioned the NI offers, right now.

Plugins do work in ableton. Vst plugins..
They come in all sorts, like synths, drum machines, effects, compressors and stuff
are you looking for a synth?

by all means get Reaktor 5 for 99!! That's the plugin that keeps giving....and need a good reverb as mentioned above? Reaktor has spacemaster reverb....and a good mastering limiter....and amazing synths....you get the idea.

Before you splash lots of $$ I'd highly recommend that you go over to http://www.stillwellaudio.com/?page_id=28

These plugs are shareware...uncrippled try-outs with no expiry date. And they are simply wonderful.

The Rocket compressor in particular is up there with best that Waves, UAD, McDSP et al have to offer. Seriously.

But if it's controller you want, just get a launchpad and enjoy...such good fun!

if your just starting out which seems like you are, don't get reaktor.. it's a good deal but it might be too much for a beginner.. i also recommend getting the free ones first and see exactly what you need first.. i didn't get what you meant by a machine like mixer..

btw.. check the audiomidi no brainer deals..

+1, when i read this i think of a mixer with ableton like a xone 3d or 4d?!?!? does really need a little more elaboration...

I think this man means midi controller.

Popular choices seem to be the Akai APC, novation launchpad, novation remote zero and behringer bcr2000.

Depends what you want to do with it really.

sounds too good to be true, is there an incentive to pay for them, just wondering cause i am stingy..

Only the fact that you get sent to the website each time you open any Stillwell plugin that isn't registered.

Are you talking about a physical device? In that case I think the term you're looking for is "Control Surface".

Not on my machine you don't. You get a nag window for a few seconds which then disappears. Not that I'm arguing against paying for them, awesome plugs.
