Guess I can search on youtube to find all those electro effects, but some of them, I don't know what they're called, so I'm a little lost on how to learn those royksopp, deadmau5, justice, etc. tricks..

Anyone know an easy way to learn those synth/effects tricks?

Any tip is much appreciated!

there is no " easy way" lots of trial and error and experimentation.

you could sign up for Sonic Academy. They do "Sound Like "insert artist here" Tutorials"

Vimeo is a good resource too

also check out Tom Cosm

You need machines to make sounds for you. Try creating your sounds in Reason and then using them to play in Ableton. Or find packs of premade transitional sound effects etc, like on loopmasters.com
Good luck cadet.

yeah, check tom cosms videos. he mostly only uses operator and analog.

i personally don't even use samples, thanks to operator, which can create mostly anything (percussion, kicks, snares, hihats, baselines, melodic parts, beeps and such, etc..).

so no need to have any other synths or tools outside ableton live. it just might make it more easy to you, as they might fit your way of working better. my way of working fits best to the ableton live devices.
