The "so-called quotes" quotes thread

As you likely know, there is a method of using quotes( " " ) which, when applied properly, cast doubt and suspicion on the matter being discussed. Sometimes referred to as "finger quotes", this method of using punctuation adds new dimensions to written speech.
For example, if I had said "applied properly" instead of just applied properly in tbhe above, there is some doubt introduced that such "application" is even "proper" or, in fact, desirable. You see, I've done it again.
And so, this is the thread where these quotes are "used" to their "best advantage".
