i bought an m-audio audiophile for my comp the other day, and lo and behold, there was this abelton cd in the box. i had no clue what it was, so i put it in the cdrom, watched the video and decided that it was the coolest thing i had seen in a loooooong time.

got really stoked, installed etc, open up the demo song to start fiddling, and can get absolutely no sound. nothing.

went into preferences, selected the proper ins and outs, still nothing. is there some obvious setting or control function that i am missing?

well you have selected the "Asio", then the audio card?
Is your computer playing sounds from other software (ex. winamp)?
Are your cables hooked correctly?
