Hi there,

just uploaded a set of M4L devices to control Live with a monome64. I suppose it's pretty complex, so have a look at the documentation included in the devices itself.

The set contains the following devices:

- MonoInterface: the "conductor" for mode management and communication, to be placed on the Master Track
- MonoAudio: satellite device for controlling audio tracks
- MonoMIDI: satellite device for controlling MIDI tracks
- MonoBufferShuffler: satellite device for controlling audio tracks with BufferShuffler devices

The following modes are supported:

- Clip Launch Mode (incl. Clip Overview) of up to 49 tracks and 64 scenes
- Track Mode (EQ Three, Transpose up/down, solo, mute, reset) + special BufferShuffler stuff (Freeze, Randomize, Reset)
- 5 Send Modes (incl. smooth value transition over time)
- FX Track Mode for up to 7 tracks containing dummy modulation clips
- Loop Control Mode a la Traktor (MonoAudio)
- MIDI Edit Mode incl. MIDI Overview (MonoMIDI) for sequences over 4 octaves and 64 steps (incl. humanisation)
- MLR Mode for jump fun (MonoBufferShuffler)

In terms of documentation, start with MonoInterface. I will upload a LivePack shortly which showcases the configuration. Have fun and let me know of any bugs.

I'd like to report a bug:

In Midi Edit Mode, the vertical playbar leaves all LED's lit up after it passes, and doesn't clear them.

I don't own monome myself so I was generally interested in investigating the patch for clues how to grasp some API functions ... But alas the patch is somehow locked? Is this on purpose?

From having a quick look, it's probably related to me using an external (bitlist from jasch objects) which don't get frozen with the max device.

will upload a version without externals later, in the meantime, you could download the jasch objects (http://www.jasch.ch/dl/) and put them into your max-externals folder of your Max 5 distribution.

Thanks for letting me know. Looking forward to the externaless version! Unfortunately, I'm using Windows, and the Max 5 jasch files are Mac only.

just added the LivePack I promised (based on the free Swayzak LivePack available on the Ableton site). Nothing special, just to showcase the usage of the devices as well as the FX tracks (FX clip mode).

There is an update of MonoMidi availaible on my blog( http://www.mrflakey.com/?p=79) It now supports a Multisampling Mode which makes your drum sequences even more humanized by choosing samples out of a pool of 8 for each note lane. It is best to be used with a Drum Rack.

For each of the samples within the pool, one can define the relative probabilities for that sample to be chosen which allows you to create dynamic sequences in realtime just by changing the probabilities.

Apart from that, MonoMIDI now also sports a Probability mode where the velocity of a note is used as a means for the probability that the note will be played. Low velocity = low probality.

I also fixed a bug with the MIDI transpose which would lose note-offs when transposing during an open note.
