I got creative and mounted my Launchpad to a microphone stand... I set up a quick link with pics for the process.

I've used it once on stage so far, and it changes the perception of what you are doing with a computer on stage... Especially with the MIDI feedback through all the LEDs.

Let me know what you think!

Excellent!

I have a few pieces of gear that mount on mic stands & I really like it. Your setup looks great.

Do you have a link or name for the stand that your APC40 is on?

Great idea and implementation. Ive been thinking about building a stand up rig for looping guitar and keyboard for a while now, and youve just inspired me to get it working. Thanks for the build guide.

I feel like im at the office when im sitting down at the DAW, time to stand up and throw some shapes!

Good looking stand. Thinking of trying it for my PadKontrol.

One question, how stable is it, I give the PadKontrol a bit of a beating when I'm using it.

The stand for the APC40 is a standard issue tripod music stand (sheet music). You can find one just about anywhere.

As long as you use a tripod mic stand (do not use the little round base stands) you should be fine. I'm an extremely animated sax player on stage, so there is quite a bit of "expressive pounding" happening on my launchpad.

IDK about standard issue, those are usually piece of shit thin metal, that looks like a solid piece right there..

HAH! I didn't think of that. I guess you called out my inner band geek. Mine is made by "On-Stage Stands". It is very solid.

The laptop stand is made by QuikLok

I don't like the "mouse pad" feature on the stand... I'm thinking about cutting it off. Or, I might put a MIDI Fighter on there just for giggles.

Am I being daft ..?
I put my Launchpad on a music stand ...stable as ow't, no time or grief building the thing , and it even comes in black pre painted!!!

20 quid off ebay ...

each to his own .. I would rather spend my time playing the thing or soldering modular synthesizers together...

lol

That's great if the venue has a music stand.

I travel a lot, and don't like to carry stands. I am pretty much assured that a mic stand will be present, I've never seen a solid music stand at a venue other than a theater. Hence, I put this little guy together. Yes, I've painted it! Chalkboard black!
