Does anyone use AAS's Tassman 4?

I'm a little bit confused about what it actually is. Is it kind of like a 'synth builder'? Do you wire premade objects together to create new synths? Almost looks like a 'Reaktor Lite' or something.... It looks pretty cool, but I hadn't even heard of it before until a few days ago.

it's a bit like Reaktor for physical modeling. The sound is amazing. But the integration is a little bit clumsy and the whole workflow and feel is a little too 2004 for my taste to use it often these days

There's a demo I think. Download, experiment, and find out what it is

It's a modular synth package. It includes the various elements that can be patched together to make your own synths. The main differences with Reaktor in my view are:

1. Tassman doesn't have the advanced sequencing/sampling and various other things of Reaktor - Tassman is focussed on synths and effects.

2. With Reaktor you can go go deeper into programming your own modules.

3. Tassman's real strength is physical modelling, and nothing comes close to it in terms of physcial modelling sound quality.

I love the Tassman sound but have never bought it for the reasons mentioned by nq. I've just never got the workflow, and it doesn't seem to have been updated for ages.

It's my most used synth. i never built a synth module myself, the library plus the online user library serves me well, i agree with the others it can use a major overhaul, though, still i love it for the pure soundquality!
like all other AAS synths.

+1
Warm sounds all the way... for a vst!

quite true...
And I don't need it to be updated, if I need a good sound, know there's my old mate Tassman to do the job.
But, I'm no synth maker or builder, I do own reaktor as well, and do the same... use the synths and fx from library!
Somehow, I preffer the warmth of Tassman most of the time. (I'm getting old and start to like less and less the weird sounds... even if they're good)

My 2 cents. That's all.

Cheers
