hi all,

don't know if anybody already posted this,but last night i went into demo mode in Live 8.1(which works PERFECT for me,no crashes or whatever),to check out some of Live's additional stuff.
i went into the "preferences","user account licenses" tab.
under "software instruments" i saw "max for live demo"

so i downloaded Max 5(which has support for max for live)

installed it etc,etc........

O...M....F....G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

totally blown away,i got excited when using the beta's,but i guess now was the right time to truly discover it's potential.

i am buying it,most definitely!
where the FRAK is my godsdamn creditcard?!?!?!?!??

Thanx for the heads up! So you still have to dl something from cycling to make the demo work?

I'm excited to have a play... the Step Seq for launchpad is up on the Novation site as well!

Damn I was all excited but where is the option for the M4L demo if your running Ableton Suite?

So I got it running as demo, but there is no content, no m4l devices in my library. Can I download them somewhere? Or do I have to download the huge suite downlad and reinstall? Probably ...

hi,

go to the Max 5 application(applications folder on Mac)>support>live packs.
there should be a "maxforlivecontent.alp",which is the live pack containing all the stuff.
double-click that to install,that should do it.

uh, thanks that was good info. I needed to download the latest max5, though, I had it running with an older max5 demo before.

Shit, that's too many devices to try right now. Where to start?????

got 8.1 suite installed and can't seem to find option to test out max,

any ideas?

mmm , still stuck. I've got 5.1 on osx. installed the latest version of max, and also installed the max4live content livepack. Am i missing something obvious - can't find a thing to do with max inside live!?

Same here, I can't see any activate Max4live demo options anywhere! I'm on the fence about forking out for M4L, a demo would really help me make up my mind.

I am really glad to hear that the demo verion of max for live is running well. I have had the same success with jst running ableton 8 as a demo without saving and exporting. Since I use this as an insturment and not to record this works very well. It seems that everytime I try to play with one of the updates that ableton issues it ALWAYS SEEMS TO CRASH. It seems that we all jst need to use the DEMO version of ableton software. Keep folks posted on max for live.....Since there are so many negative posts about ableton 8 and max for live I am glad to see that someone out there is getting there money's worth. I would not buy max for live or ableton 8 for at least 6 months until they get all the bugs worked out. With live squared coming out I am sure it is going to take another year to 6 months to get that running well enough to drop it on stage.....

their isnt an option, download and install max, then navigate to your program files cycling74/max/support/live packs

open live goto your preferences in licencing their is an option for showing all demo options at start up, select that, then close live, when you reopen you have the option to start live and authorised products or start the demo. start the demo and all the max content will show in lives browser along with the regualr stuff, the devices will load and be usable.

im running 8.1 suite download version not boxed.

I downloaded the demo, but after installing it, I can see the Max instruments, but the presets are not working, nor
is there that wanted step sequencer..??

im running 8.1 suite download version not boxed.

I'd be surprised if that's what's causing the problem as I expect the 8.1 code would be exactly the same although it does seem to be the only difference unless your on OSX?
