just got ableton launchpad edition, I've tried dragging everywhere and nothing.

please help!

mp3 support is only for full versions, afaik

I bought the launchpad just for djing, now i can't get my music into it. great.

what do you suggest I do?

Buy the full version.

Are the MP3s DRM-protected? Have you been able to play any other file types, e.g. wav?

I don't believe they're protected and yes I can get wavs in.

it's definitely perfect for dj'ing if you ask me i have been able to use it on Live 7.0.14 with manual midi-mapping to trigger tracks and now it just works better with Live 8.1. it worked proper with mp3s on the Launchpad edition too.

dude i would also suggest an upgrade if the problem persists.

i have Ableton suite 8.4 and cant drag and drop any type of files from the windows browser location. i used to be able to with ableton 7 but since i upgraded to 8 suite it only lets me drop samples in from the ableton browser. it just allows me to replace samples in songs where there are sounds missing which does occur alot when using seperate hard drives and working with other peoples files/songs. if anyone has any info on this please share. i have posted in the support forum and havent gotten a look! i spent 900 on ableton and have gotten noooo support except from other users. i love the product but cant believe for the life of me that these questions cant be answered here?

if you want ableton support, you should email or call them. the forum does get some responses from abe staff, but is not really the primary way

first thing will be to update to the latest version

had the same problem and Ableton Support told me to upgrade to the latest version. that fixed it

Hey People,
I've got the same problem.
Using Ableton 7 it would sometimes not let me not drag in some tracks.
But using 8 now an alot more tracks won't open up.
Starting to think that the music I buy off Beatport, has some sort of licencing thing on it.
Because If I re-save the tracks using Audacity They load up straight away.
There has to be a way to get around this................

make sure latest live version and latest quicktime version are installed

then go from there
