EQ3 recommendation

A friend of mine pointed this out.

When adding EQ4 to an audio track there no audible changes until you start moving the different bands. When an EQ3 is added to an audio track there is a noticable difference in sound right away, even though the EQ dials are at 0.

As a DJ I like the EQ3 because its controls are exactly what I need. But I would prefer that when the knobs are at 0, the audio be exactly the same as if it wasn't there instead of boosting the sound.

I feel this implimentation would be more ideal.

Yes thats because they wanted to make it more analoge sounding, a switch where you could set up a flat response would be nice.
And to have the +-0dB position at 12 oclock instead of past 15min, like on a regular mixer would be nice too, perhaps you could build an eq3 II with more user selectable features?

Greetings

I agree. Eq3 changes the sound far to much. It doesnt have the warming effect ableton were hoping for. The eq should be transparent. Shame really as the kill switches are ace but the sound of the plugin prevents me using it on productions.
