Device ON/OFF using a control surface (as in APC40)

key or midi map would assign the on\off to a specific device.


APC-40 can do it on the currently selected device.

Can any other control surface do it too?

You can make similar behaviour by putting your device in a rack and mapping the device's on/off to one of the rack's macro knobs. Then your control surface's instant mapping will apply to these macro knobs when the rack is selected.

also, in my experience on-off on some effects will cause a clip sound when used real time, it might be better to use a rack and different chains if you experience this. specifically delays/reverb/resonator.

if so, map volume instead of on of will eliminate clicks.
