OK, I have 14 simultaneous tracks, RMIV, Muon TAo Pro, Albino, and over 30 audio plugins including 2 really nice VST reverbs. My CPU meter never goes over 5%. I'm tempted to just keep firing in reverbs to see how hard it is to make this thing choke.
I had a much harder CPU hit in Live 3, and this was without VSTis. Is this possible??

I gather that's a 17" Toshiba

My latest track has 2 NNXT's (all 24 bit samples) , 1 Maelstrom, 3 simplers , 2 impulses , FM7 ,
Bojo's organ 1 ,DaHornet and Motion 2.8 , Crystal a Multiband Compressor on Master 2 H/Q verbs (non ableton ones I might add) on sends and 10 stereo audio tracks + 27 insert effects .... chuggin' out a fabulous 43-58% total CPU usage with around 6 Live midi effects also ....
Ya gotta love it

.....
That's a lot of eq's ,compressor's and some pretty whacked out effects devices also .

i've had the same experience with Live 4. i have a song with 60 tracks and 12 internally routed sub-outs. this in turn is re-wired to reason which is running several redrums, plenty of malstroms, and a 14x2 mixer for every sub out. as for vst effects...well i never feel comfortable till i've put something on every track

. all this and I dont go over 27% cpu!

i will point out, however, that in order to get such a significant performance boost I had to up the processor side bus speed from 200mhz to 201mhz (yes you read right 201mhz). For some reason the 1mhz meant everything to my motherboard.

great, lookz like toshiba really loves ableton live

too bad my toshiba notebook is having some kind of problems w/ its touchpad freezing ... anybody else ever experienced this: your cursor just freezezs for a few short seconds? happens to me on my toshiba every few minutes ... and sometimes it wont "let go" of things (ie when holding down the mousebutton to twist a knob, the cursor will still be grabbing the knob when i let go of mousebutton) ...

I have to ask, so you are saying you have at some point in your live set all 60 tracks playing back at the exact same time and not over 27% cpu usage?
