So I got a Launchpad for X-mas... :|

It's super fun and all, but its use will be severely limited for me. I can't tell the yellow pads from the green at all...
Also, where's my Automap Pro upgrade? I've registered my Nocturn and the Launchpad, and I was supposed to get an e-mail with
details on the upgrade. Did anyone do this successfully? As far as I understood the whole thing, all you had to do was
register two eligible products, and you'd get the e-mail automatically?
What a bummer.

The Automap pro upgrade; write Novation after the holidays, pretty sure they'll set you straight. Guess you need to cook a Max patch so play/stop status would be Red/Green mybe tell Novation about it maybe they could include some colour blind mode? I have heard people about this before is colour blindness common?

yes very, especially under man... it is way more common than we usually think... just look how most man are dressed in terms of colour combinations.

Yep - I'm most definitely colour blind. Not totally red/green (as you could probably tell from my problem with the Launchpad),
but I have serious problems telling yellow from green (especially light hues), red from brown and blue from purple, for
instance. In general, I can't tell colours apart very well.
I'll drop Novation a mail eventually; I was looking forward to see what I could brew with Automap pro. Can it be used with
any application, or just audio? I think I'd wet myself if it can send key strokes to any application - the possibilities it
will give me in Photoshop!
Cheers.

dunno about Windows, but on a Mac the keystrokes will go to whatever application is currently in focus...

Well, that's just typical... I don't understand why that would work on a Mac and not on a PC.

why do you think that what you're seeing as green should be yellow? this makes no sense.
"I just got this device, I don't know how it works yet but it sucks."

seriously. I've used mine for weeks and never thought "that LED should be yellow." what makes you think certain LEDs should be yellow? see what I'm getting at? AFAIK the mixer mode uses bright/dim green, red and amber, not yellow. those six colors.
piss off sub funk. once again, posting where you don't have a clue on the topic at hand. you're just being a dick.
edit - checking the LP again, what feature should show up as yellow? I've played with yellow with m4L, I can tell the difference there, but I'm not seeing yellow in mixer or session view modes. I do get yellow if I play midi notes of various velocities to User 1 but only for one narrow range of velocities.
or let sub funk figure it out.

right.

session view (clip triggering) and red is for stop.
hard to see for a colour blind person (on topic) in real the difference (between the green colour tone and the amber colour tone) is way less
than in this image. therefor hard to be seen for many, not all. also depending on the surrounding light conditions it can be weak (on topic)
i go watching a nice movie now.

once you see yellow in User2 you'd see that mixer and session use amber. they are pretty close in color. bad thing about a pic is like you wrote, it depends on the light in the room and the settings of the camera.
