Melodyne, which one ?

Post by The Carpet Cleaner » Sat Dec 26, 2009 9:48 am

Hi,

I'm interested in the melodyne stuff.
Using sample with it should be great.
However, I wonder which one should I use if I want it to work closely with ableton.
There seems to be 3 version :
assistant, editor and studio
Assistant doesnt seem to have the DNA feature so you cannot modify harmony so I think it's not as interesting...
Editor seems to have the DNA stuff
Studio seems to have everything but maybe it's too much.

I'll like to use it as a plug-in, not as a DAW.
Still, I'll like to be able, for example, to switch a chord from minor to major. Can I do that with the melodyne editor version?

Any hints?

I want to add something :
on their website it's not really clear, melodyne editor works as a plug-in, but the studio version works with melodyne bridge, which is also a plug-in... so at the end, what's the difference anyway?

Melodyn Editor is what you are after, serious, serious bit of audio manipulation kit!
