Drops on handshake when exchanging key with my router. Anyone got theirs up and running wirelessly? If so, a walkthough please?

Eldest son not happy. :(

Had a feeling I was going to get both of those answers...and neither really help me out. :(

Check router , maybe you have enabled mac address filtering ? :)
(if yes disable it for a moment, connect with ps3 and after that add mac address of ps3 to allowed)

Have you checked out the ps3 server?
http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/downloads/list
Haven't actually used it myself, and sorry haven't tried wireless pairing for server/ps3 yet

it could be a case of a OS update. can you long on over LAN connection and update OS to the latest version and try wirelessly from there?

Register the Mac address of the ps3 in the router, or the other connected devices addressess. This problem happens when the router can't give a steady ip address to the ps3.

cool, I shall try those things. I have disconnected security and the ps3 has had a load of updates, maybe it'll work now. If not I shall wack the PS3 mac address into the router.

Schveet, thanks boys.

oh, BTW, does playing wirelessly affect response of the ps3? My son wants to play his mate at Fifa, so he needs responsive control so it's fair I guess.

Depends. I have been able to play COD4 using wireless at times, but at other times it is terrible. If nobody else is on the connection and you have a decent bandwith it should be fine.
