Alrighttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!

Just got an email from y local dealer (small family business - nice to get a mail on Sunday)
They got them in stoooooockkkkkkkkk so tomorrow tomorrow I love you tomorrow!!!!

I'll be fiiiiiiiiiinally getting control what attracted me to Ableton in the first place: The clips/improv thing, that shit don't work with a mouse!

What's a Launchpad?

I think it's hilarious how many kids I know who don't make beats yet, but all they want is Ableton Live 8 Suite and a Launchpad..












Do you have any clips to launch with it? Samples to trigger? a synth to play?

I don't have the heart to ask them.

It's all the rage bro. I look at it like when electric guitars came out and everybody wanted to be a pop/rock star so they bought a guitar or drum set or w/e. Now it's just the same song but in the electronic age. SUCKAZZZZ!

but then I think about how I was like "dude I"m gettin a trigger finger" and I had no clue what the fuck i was getting into.


They won't even be able to setup the in's/out's for the Launchpad, and I'll be killin' it makin' madphat beats.

For real tho, this kids christmas list was an iMac 27", Live 8 Suite, Launchpad, Synth... so that he could start making beats.

He played drumset it high school and has no prior beat making/recording or any other experience... Not trying to be a bitch, cause I'm not really bitching about it, I just think it's a shame cause my buddy just sold his padKontrol for $60 cause he couldn't ever figure it out, and then you got me over here, couldn't afford even the $60 padKontrol but I would already know how to map it out set it up and tweak out the functions, and I'd probably already have the editor programs installed before I have the device in hand.

So if that kid gets what he wanted I hope he at least learns how to use it in the future, or else it should've just gone to my broke ass

I used to play the drums, have over a 100 releases under my belt, I got a circuit bent drumulator soon with 808/909 EPROMs, a circuit bent Casio soon with MIDI
And I "know how to make beats" I used already used ReCycle when VST didn't even exist dumping to/from an Ensoniq ASR-10 Sampler...
But that's ALL beside the point:

I WANT TO START CLIPS ON THE MUTHERFUCKING FLY EVER SINCE I GOT LIVE 4!!!!!!

It can't be done with a mouse when you mouse over to the clip you want to start it's too late... there needs to be a button.... tomorrrow's the day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks (take a bow) but Akai suck ass with their stupid pricing... really regret doing free promotion for them. Anyway, I tried to get an APC and I couldn't ...then the Launchpad appeared. I started waaayyyyyy back in the 90's and before I had my Atari ST and Cubase (!!!!!) I sequenced on an Ensoniq ESQ-1 you could make these patterns and press buttons around the display and it was grrrreat for playing Live... and so when I discovered Ableton, well you get it, but the mouse doen't cut it...

Tomorrow I'm a button presser-girl impresser- almost bald don't need no hair dresser - use a limiter or a compresser if it's sibilant bring out the de-esser!!!!!!

why not do that with a piano keyboard? the Launch Pad isn't even velocity sensitive.
