My audio keeps freezing up on and off during recording and after, during playback By looking at the arrangement position counter things seem to be off by almost a full second. Any ideas on how to fix this This is a new problem although my set's have been becoming more demanding as of late...

If it's a new problem then you may have installed a new application that's causing the problem, especially ones that are using USB, if you're audio interface is using USB.
Try turning off as many background services as you can. I was having similar problems and what fixed it was preventing Windows from launching a printer application at startup. The printer app was continually scanning my USB for any printers and as such interfering with my audio interface.
