Max for Live Keep crashing.

Ok, just upgraded to 8.1.1 and bought m4l. ..Downloaded Max. 5.1.1. Everything s authorised on Preference.. but cannot load any max for live devices. .. I get crashes saying, "A serious program error has occurred. Live will shut down after this message box is closed". Have been at it for about 4 hrs now. Installed the older version of Max also and still nothing.... $578... Help!!!!!!
