Hey there peeps,

Just picked myself up an apc40 over the festive period to expand upon the xsession interface i had before when djing with live. I'm having a small problem routing audio however and wondered if anyone uses a similar setup to myself.

I'd like to have 3 audio signals routed from ableton to go to the 3 channels on my a&h. In, say, a configuration like left channel / effects channel / right channel.

i'd like to sort this using send tracks and return tracks considering the apc40 natively handles 3 send controls.does anyone use a setup similar to this that they could explain to me?

cheerio!

I use to run to an external 2 channel mixer, and was using 2 sends. Heres what I did. First off for yourself you'll need a sound card with atleast 3 sets of stereo outputs....

I was running 4 audio channels (A,B,C,D)
Audio channels A & B were bussed to Send A. Then from Send A I routed the audio to channel 1 on my mixer (which for my was audio outs 1/2).
Audio channels C & D were bussed to Send B. Then from Send B I routed the audio to channel 2 on my mixer,(which for my was audio outs 3/4)..

The Sends are housing all my effects. Then I was doing my EQing via the hardware mixer. I hope this helps you.

thats pretty much the setup i was using before.
however, the apc40 doesnt let you control effects on the sends unless you map them manually manually and i was hoping not to do that so i can get to grips with the automaps first.

i'm thinking at the mo while writing this...
bus left through send a
bus right through send b
send c reserved for dummy clips
bus these channels back into audio clips with these sending their signal to my audio i/o device to the mixer
this way i'll be able to use send c as a dry/wet channel ideally killing the original audio and leaving only the manipulated signal.
i was playing with it last night but kept running out sends/channels to route through.
might just take a bit of head scratching. thanks anyway :)
