Live XS not working on OS X Panther?

I recently got the M-Audio X-Session, in the first place to use with NI Traktor. This Midi controller was bundled with Live XS. I would very much like to use this program. And I am quite sure I am going to consider an upgrade to Live 4 after I get to know this program... But the thing is I don't get it to work in Mac OS 10.3.5.
The behaviour I see is that the application icon bounces once in the dock and than disappears...
I just installed by unstuffing the .sit file, and dropping the application in the Applications folder.
I already tried to repair permissions, but this didn't solve this problem.
I am wondering if there is a way to get it working or is it just not working on Panther?
