Help setting up Virus Indigo

Here's my workflow: VMK188 midi out to Delta1010 midi In, Delta 1010 midi out to Edirol midi in 1, Edirol midi out 1 to midi in Virus Indigo, Indigo out to Edirol midi in 2. Nothing from the Indigo will record.

Why are you going into the Delta and Edirol first? Are you sure those thru's are set to transmit what they receive at their in's? Sounds like a latency nightmare even if you were able to get it to work. Just go right into the Indigo from the VMK.

Don't want to go out of the VMK since its my main controller. I should clarify my problem. With the setup as it is now I can record the midi notes but not the midi cc such as the filter changes, lfo changes and such. The Virus manual outlines very plainly how to set it up in the control menu, and I have done what it suggests, but I still can't record parameter changes into Live. I even tried going into my Tascam US122 midi and just use it as a dedicated interface just for the Virus but same deal. Notes will record but none of the knob movements.

Tried three midi interfaces so the problem is either with a setting in Live or the Indigo.

In Live's midi preferences, do you have "Remote" turned on for the midi input the Virus is sending too?

When you turn a knob on the Virus, do you see a little yellow light flash in the upper right hand corner of Live?

I'll check when I get home. I think the midi indicator was flashing but don't know for sure.

Ok. I can record notes into Live by playing the Virus. Im going out of the Virus, into my Edirol, and out of my 1010. This, so far, is the only way I can get Live to record incoming notes from the Indigo. When I turn a knob the yellow midi indicator in Lives top right corner lights up so I know it's seeing the Indigo. Now, maybe I misunderstood the Access manual, but shouldn't I be able to record ALL midi information (lfo changes/filt sweeps/ env changes)into Live? In my manual, page 214, it reads: "Virtually all parameters of the Virus are accessible via MIDI so that, for example, you can manipulate knobs and buttons and record these movements to a sequencer. You may then route these commands back to the Virus, which respond to these automated instructions automatically." There must be some one-side filtering going on within Live that isn't enabled to receive the incoming midi controls and poly-pressure commands. I've followed the instructions on the Virus by going into the Control Panel and setting LoPage to Contr(MIDI controller) and HiPage to PolyPrs(MIDI polypressure). Got me stumped pretty good. Can you think of any errors I'm not seeing here? In prefs all my MIDI ports have Track Sync and Remote enabled. It's odd that the notes record and playback perfectly but none of the other MIDI commands are getting through.

Hmm, I'm really not sure, the Indigo is different from my TI in this regard. I'd suggest asking on the Access forums, sorry I can't help directly:

Marc or Timo there should be able to help fairly fast.
