[urgent] Weird sounds coming from track selections?

Within the past 15 minutes something extremely strange has started to happen...
Whenever I switch channels or click on a clip within a channel I get a weird 'PEWWW/swoosh' sound. I've rebooted ableton and it still occurs.
Before somebody states the obvious, I do not have this 'sound' as one of my clips. My clips are all full tracks.
Before this occured I was programming midi events in MIDIOX/BOME to control events within ableton. So i closed down midiox & Bome and the sound still occurs. It's definitely ableton related. Has anyone got any ideas?
