Hi everyone,

i have a question about live sets i'd like to do with a friend of mine... As we both love ableton and would like to use it for live performances, we would ike to know if it's possible to link the 2 laptops and have they run in sync, as if they had timecode giving positional reference to each other...

Is it possible somehow?

Thanks!!

Paolo G

Hello,
You can do it with an ethernet link between the 2 macbook.
Simply open the utility/midi and audio, and create a midi ethernet device into both macbook, and it will appear in the midi control panel of Live, just to the sync like you would do with a drum machine and enjoy :-)

Double-click the network icon, and in the opening window click on the question mark..

It is possible, I did it with a friend with 2 macs. unfortunatley there is too much latency/slippage to be of use we found. Maybe you can find it better. I'm not on my mac now so going from memory.
http://www.homestudioguide.com/HowToSet ... ngOSX.aspx this should help you with the tricky part.

Then it's a case of deciding which laptop is master/slave and routing the midi sync in preferences. finally hit the EXT button in the top left of live on the slave.
