Anyone having problems running L8 on powerbook G4?

I just got Live 8 Suite for my powerbook G4 1.25GHz with 2 Gigs of RAM and it hasn't been running the way it should. I cleared the hard drive and the start up disk and upgraded the OS to lepard and I am still having problems with lagging and distortion. The CPU usage jumps up to 140% when playing 2 clips together. Anyone else having issues with this? Anyone find a solution?

Are these pure audio clips without effects?
From my experience it runs fine but you are limited in using racks and instruments (VSTi/Live devices)

Yes it happens even without effects. For example I dragged a glitch drumbeat from the clip menu and the CPU went from 10% to 60%, then when I tried to add another glitch clip the CPU went from 60% to 140%. And this is just with the two clips playing together with no added effects or anything.

Dragging clips into the session window takes a very long time and causes the sound to lag and distort when they are played. Loops with the checkmark on the loop icon (like the ones in the KJ Sawka Live Pack) seem to work best, but even then they start to lag and distort when more than 8 tracks are playing. Also when I downloaded some of the Live Sets from the AbleTen section of the web site, only certain scenes will play without lag and distortion.

Do you mean the "Clips" from the library?
These are prefabricated (midi-)loops with usually quite a lot effects/racks etc.

OK, so basically the program should work fine as long as I don't use the prefabricated clips, and keep the effect and rack use to a minimum? Will the same lagging occur if I create clips from audio recordings?
