Want to have some free pro looking skins? Here you go :)

Hi
I never liked the native skins of Live (with a personal hate for the default one).
Ableton never looked very professional with these skins and there is a lack of dark skins for DJ's and performers in clubs so I decided to make my own.
In the ZIP file you can find 40 more professional looking skins (this is my opinion, maybe you totally disagree

) and I coded the names based on darkness:
- DRK is a dark skin
- LHT is a light skin
- MED is a skin with medium brightness
I also added a code for the main color (R = red, Y = yellow, you get the point).
example of an included skin file:
aurex - DRK - Midnight Sky R.ask
I put a lot (!) of work in these skins too make them very enjoyable to work with.
There are also 2 'special skins' based on the look of two popular music programs (Logic Pro and Traktor Pro).

there are all cool, but most of them have one drawback... the buttons next to the browser and the session / arrange switch button and the window scroll bars are way to dark, they are hardly visible at all. if you can just give them a little bit of contrast, then i think you made a damn decent set of skins.

From the darks i like the "club" the "Inside Out R", "traktor" and the "smooth"
The "Inside Out R" "traktor" and "Smooth" actually are excellent but the color of the clips/tracks fonts is not visible (in "club" the fonts are great)!!
also i like "MED gray Y" !!
thanks very much for sharing

thanks for sharing.. i liked 5 of them.. but they are all greyish.. liked the disco skin back than ..at least sometimes
one remark when you after a professional look... everything needs to be readable.. also in the prefference windows or in the plugins..
In areas where you cant change the colour, the contrast between the letters and the background allways have to stay readable...
One other thing.. in your pro colourchemes you was a bit too much after good look instead functionality.. the selected clip should pop out as much as it can.. a light grey as selector colour maybe looks smooth but is not very functional...
Anyway, good work.. defently some alternatives with that package..
Where have you found the info how to change the colour chemes?
I personally found the basic contrasts of oak pretty good for long term working, reminds a bit t the old reaktor colour cheme, but with all this poo brown and the vomit green in the selectors..

.. its really hard to live with that even when the warm contrasts are very pronounced and good to read even from a distance... but the overall apearance is just so ugly that its bone shaking
But i guess that it could be a good one with some little changes..
How can i get rid of poo brown and vomit green? the poo brown could be somehow darker like mahagony..if you want it to be in the wood range but could be any darker colour i guess..
and the selection should be just one of the good standard colours...
However... when i find out how to change it i will have poo free oak

Hi
Yes I like to have gray-ish (and black) as main color in combination with some more pronounced color's for knobs and other stuff.
I find skins with a lot of colors everywhere very distracting.
About the "vomit green" (it's actually a very sharp lime color and this one is so bright for people who want to take Live on stage.
I do that, and the lime is very visable, even from a distance so I know with a quick look what's on and what not.
I can understand you don't like it, but that's why I included all sort's off other color themes.
What is the name of the skin with the oak color and the poo-brown (rather strange names you gave them :S)?
I will change that for you in an upcoming upload.
I do agree with the readability of preference windows and plugins. I'll check that and provide corrected skins in the same upcoming upload (btw: twisted space, thank you for being this kind. I'll give the new updated pack to you soon).

some of the colour variants you have choosen just dont wrk for some stdard windows.. when you have white letters for example and a yellow or light blue based colour cheme certai areas get unreadable...
is it possible tohave any colour for letters? i wonder if red on blue contrast might be better readable on coloured bars while being better on dark backgrounds than black writing?
The colourcheme i am talking about is called oak. its a factory standard...and the light brown background is nice but having the dark areas in poo brown is just too much of the brown.. a way darker brown would look nicer maybe even something bluish..
and the selctor of single clips or in the waveform is not very good visibe in the dark vomit green it has.. i sllways found the orange colours of the standard chemes pretty good for that purpose.. but anything that rella highlights it would be allwrigt i guess..
anyway thans for your efforts
