I upgraded last night to Live 8 and did the download version. Great!!! I installed the latest version, then the nightmare started. I went through the authorization bollox only to keep getting an internal server error from Ableton.

So i tried the offline method, When i went to download the file that has the info in it, i notice in my browser address bar there was another error message along the lines of can not find file for this serial number,

I dont get it, Anyone??

Im on a brand new iMac with snow Leopard

make sure you contact support@ableton.com

in the meantime maybe you can sign up for a demo license, which should allow you to work until you get your license sorted out

??

tried that but I have used the 30 day trial before to see if the upgrade was worth it. Thanks for your help. Hopefully it's just a glitch

Hi djkristoff,

sorry to hear about your trouble.
Which browser did you use to authorize? Please try to delete the browser cache and try to authorize again.
Please double-check the hardware code displayed in Live´s preferences, which enter when using the offline authorization method. Do you have a Firewall configured? In case the problems persist, please don´t hesitate to contact support@ableton.com (I could not find an email from you yet).

Best,
Jörg

I got it all fixed now. I called the support team and they said the serial number I had been sent had some problems with it. Anyway they fixed it and now I'm all set. I have a remix to do so really excited about using live for the first time to remix.

Thanks fir the help anyway guys. Shall be seeing you in the production threads no doubt.

Cheers
