Frak me, gearlust !!! just bought another stuff... Mackie C4

So I didn't buy the octocore mac pro we were talking about in my thread "2nd hand mac pro octocore price?"...
cool.
but what? I got money to spend, FFS.
guess what, I just purchased a mackie control C4 pro (229 euros shipping included)
I know a guy that makes and sells templates for the C4 pro and hardware synths, such as the roland juno 2, that I own since this summer, and that I barely don't use because it is a pain in the ass to programm, a bit like the DSI evolver.
the deal is that I'll be able to control the juno 2 AND the evolver with the C4,
just switching from templates with a button press.
Now I can throw my nocturn to the bin, goodbye auto-frakking-map !!!
Who wants to buy my new FS package : Nocturn + NI Massive => 150 euros ???
cheers

$$$$$... no no no no, it's now cheap (about to be discontinued I guess, or already discontinued)
http://www.dv247.fr/invt/38507/ 230 euros !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's the "old" one, but it's totally the same, they just made a new to match the new "pro" mackie control stuff design (only aesthetics revision).
it absolutely works standalone (midi in, out, that's it!)
for the old synths templates :
http://mapage.noos.fr/michael.rosner/C4 ... esign.html
I just ordered it today, so I can't feedback about how it works for me, it surely will need a bit of headache to insert it successfully in my setup, but I'm pretty sure it will be quickly OK
cheers mates

I now wait for my C4 to be delivered, hope it won't take too long...

too bad about the macpro.. it did sound shady.. but I've always wanted a C4 to compliment my Mackie Control.. it was $1000 not too long ago so it is a good price right now.. but I just have no space anymore. have fun!!

What can you do with the c4 and ableton as it is not supported?
Can you use the knobs and pots at all?

Ahh i've been eyeing one of them up for a while. Good purchase mate! Don't sell the Nocturn! Do you really want to inflict that piece of shit on someone else? Why not smash it up or burn it or something? Saying that though i did sell mine for a fiver more than i paid for it to some poor sap on ebay... yeah sell it to someone you don't know or don't like.
God, i fucking hate automap. HATE IT

it's mackie control mate, isn"t it supported?
nevermind, I bought it as a program surface for my hardware (and, occasionnally, software) synths.
it's also a standard midi device, so you can do everything you want as with any
just write mackie C4 in the search engine, you'll find a post where we see a picture of the C4 displaying "beat repeat" and every parameter of a beat repeat device...
it's really open minded device, and 100% midi...
cheers

I'll sell it with my copy of massive (good VI but I never use it since I got my hardware synths) as a "super cool softsynth + controller package!!!!! get it now!!!! only one in stock!!!! only 1800$!!!!"

Yeah, I found this:
But then also this:
Macrostructure wrote:pev wrote:darclex wrote:would you now consider the novation remote sl zero?
No comparison. The MCU is a great bit of kit (but better with an added C4 and extender!) and is a decent usable size.

Mackie C4 does NOT work with Live. There is an alpha release third party mediator program which goes some way to making it useful with Live but it doesn't give full functionality and is alpha, not even beta at the moment.
I'm a little confused here... how do you do this template shown in the pic above?

I don't know... but it is DOABLE.
(but it's not what I'm willing the C4 to do... it's for programming my hardware synths that have too few pots)
"mackie C4 does NOT work with live" => FALSE.
it's a generic midi controller. It is just that it is not supported as a control surface (blue hand stuff) by ableton.
ok the C4 is not supported by ableton as a control surface, but nevermind, it's the same for my faderfox LV2, and it has never annoyed me
I never felt the need of using this famous blue hand
Ableton not supporting a controller as a control surface doesn't mean it is not useable as a standard midi device
cheers
