Something like nativeKONTROL apC for the APC40 in MaxForLive

I am still working my way through the MAX tutorials and have not touched the API stuff yet, so my understanding of what is possible and not is still minimal.
Is it possible to build something like nativeKONTROL's apC Series (
http://www.nativekontrol.com/apC_Series.html) inside of Max for Live?
If so, is anyone already working on something similar?

navigation, drum rack, scales, chords, user mode, etc.

What about monome emulation entirely inside Max For Live? Monomulator is great, but it would be nice it I did not have to start it up each time before I started Live. Thoughts?

you should check the new tutorial on max4live.info , usermode is explained there...though I didn´t still get it to work...

I've implemented a onerownome effect to run across the clip stop buttons in one of my scenes as i only use other peoples work the monome way of playing is currently alien to me.... It's taken me weeks to get where i am so far so when i get the last fewq buttons disabled and the final buttons mapped within the patch but not to an assigned control i'll update the version on maxforlive.com
