I prefer using Amplitube. I think it has a "warmer sound". Plus it is far, far less CPU hungry. I am not saying that Guitar Rig is crap. I would probably end up up buying it if it were more cpu friendly, just for versatility of sound and the fact that you can use a hardware pedal to control wah, wah and pitch shifting

wow,
just the opposite here. i bought Amplitube and thought it was pretty cool.
but then i got GuitarRig and WOW. much more full sounding, more realistic. better interface. it's worth the extra cpu points, but then again
it's not really an issue for me. i always record and commit to audio right away never leaving the plug "sitting on"

Maybe I should explain that I have only tried the demo of Guitar Rig. So maybe the demo version doesn't show it's true capacity. But from what I heard I didn't think it was as warm a sound as Amplitube. It was too raw for my liking. Lacking refinement. But that's to my ears. I will probably end up buying it at some point anyway.

yah i thought that too until i abandoned the presets..now..omg..i can make sounds on it i couldnt even get on the mesa rectoverb i used to have
btw as with all guitar amps, your guitar had better be pretty damned spectacular if you want a quality sound to come out of it

My guitars are pretty good Sinjin (at least I think so). A 1960 made Fender Strat and an Ibanez Prestige.
