Trilian users: is this a bug? (SOLVED!)

so I am having trouble automating parameters in Trilian. Ever since Ableton got rid of the 128 parameter limit, it's been a god send for most plug-ins but it doesn't seem to be working with this plug-in.. when I click configure and click on the parameter in Trilian, it's not responding on parameters like filter cutoff and such.. but what's weird is it's responding to other parameters such as volume.. Only difference I see is that in the trilian GUI, what's can be automated are only sliders and not parameters in knobs.. Any ideas?

Automation is working fine here (except lack of curves in Live but that's a whole different thing). Do you have the latest update? If so make sure that's the one that you're using- I had an issue with first being installed on external drive, updates on my hard drive.

Email and/or call Spectrasonics support, they'll get back to you.
Good luck.

thanks for the info.. yeah, i have the latest version.. I was using VST but haven't checked the AU version.. if that doesn't work, I'll give spectrasonics a call.. yeah, my steam folder is on a secondary internal drive.. i have omnisphere also and both just took too much HD space on the system drive.. atleast i know it's not a bug..

Trilian only sends the MIDI info for the faders in the miser and other parameters in the mixer..

You can't map controls to other Trilian controls other then what is in the mixer..

Hope this helps.

open Configure for Trillian.
open Trillian GUI
Right Click on the Parameter (knob, slider, etc), you want to automate in live.
Select -> Enable Host Automation

Then Click the Parameter again.

Parameter will then appear in the Live Configure area for Trillian.

Remember - the custom controls (1-10?) on Trillian (main page), do not transfer over the custom name, but show a generic term, like '1Custom_4'. To Bad There.

Almost every control in Omni / Trillian & RMX can be automated in any DAW - including the fx controls.

hmm.. i hope your wrong cuz that would suck. and it just doesn't sound right that you could only automate what's in the mixer page because you could automate those parameters in Ableton itself cuz it's only vol and panning.. but AnybodyHuman has it working from the sound of it.. gotta check when i get back home.

Boscoremus needs to RTM - in depth.
Or watch any of the Spectrasonics videos on Automating parameters in Trillian, Omni or RMX - they all use the same system.

View my post above.

There is even more than 1 system to automate Trillian, Omni or RMX.
#1 - the Host Automation system - like Dynamic Mapping in live
or
#2 - midi CC automation.

Both can automate almost every parameter in the GUI, any page, any knob/slider/ button.

I prefer the Host Automation, as its shows the parameter name instead of a CC # (just for ease of knowing what you are automating).
Either system works great.
Just Right Click. NP

You can automate any parameter from a MIDI track But you can only assign and map the 8 knobs of an instrument rack to the faders in the mixer..

If you go back and read the original posters comment

They are trying to build a rack with Trilian as part of that rack, and they are pushing the configure to select which items which they want to be assigned to the 8 knobs for the instrument rack..

I was told from Spectrasonics tech Support that the only parameter which will be mapped to those knobs are the faders from the mixer only for that is the only MIDI calls that are being sent from Trilian..

Dude, you're not listening. You can automate any control by simply right clicking a control in trilian and hitting "enable automation". This exposes the parameter to the host, meaning it can be assigned to rack macros or whatever else relies on automatable parameters. Either someone at spectrasonics led you astray, or you misunderstood something they told you. I'd be inclined to believe the latter.
