If you take the M away from MAC and add an id at the end you get ACID - which is much better than PCP, which is a PC with a P on the end.

Umm...?
I think we need to stay on topic here.

Yes.
Macs are better than PC's.
Macs are made better.
They are more stable.
They are the industry standard in all professional recording studios.
They have a better audio engine and so they sound better.
You can spend less money building a PC to the same spec as a mac. But it still isn't a mac.

Okay.
Now this thread needs to be made into a sticky so no more like it ever appear again.

I'm not implying any thing..
Its a statement of fact. Here. let me spell it out for you..
M*A*C*'S S*O*U*N*D B*E*T*T*E*R T*H*A*N P*C*'S
I'm not sure i would go so far as to describe them as sounding "more analogish" Thats just silly. All of them are digital machines.
I have three Macs running, a G5 a QUADCORE Intell 2.66 and a mac book pro unibody.
I would say that all three have a different sound quality or character that lends its self to different parts of the production process.
For example, my G5 makes drums sound a lot more crunchy that my quad-core, so i tend to build my phat beatz on the G5 then burn them to a 16bit
CD, I like the tone of the cd rom drive in the G5 and the filtering it adds. My quad-core is way better at capturing the upper 64 bit integer floating points that make a lot of the freeware synths sound like the really expensive native instruments and fruity loops ones.
The unibody is awesome great for making delays. I will often run a cable out of my quad-core into my unibody then back again.
Then, if i move the lap top further away from the quad core the delay gets longer. Its a bit like how they used to make reverbs and delays back in the olden days using buckets and tin cans on bits of string.

But any way..
The real point is.
Mac's FTW

Hellz yeah!!!!!! \m/

i just read today about astroturf. i say all mac users are just astroturf for that company :)

now i should run as fast as i can, right?

btw, the discussion is mood, as the summing engine is bad in both cases, so no one can use live seriously anyways.. :)

But, I have heard that the BSOD on PC's add that special smooth bluish character to the sound, which the Mac's BBOD (colour array) can in no way match. Let's face it, it's all about the colours :|

I can achieve the same delay effects, by keeping my PC in the Kitchen and running cables to my room. If you're lucky, the heating factor of the cables might even microwave some of your food for you.

Besides, the 'P' in PC actually stands for 'Pro', Mac's only recently started using the 'Pro' with their titles.

The summing engine does matter as errors in the summing engine can lead to a very tasteful tube-like character caused by the integer drifts.

I'm sure some 'Pro's' would agree with what I have said here. (Please reply, only if you're a Pro).

You obviously have not heard the latest quad core Xeon based PCs. Nothing can touch them for sound quality, FACT. I think it has something to do with the use of the letter X in the name radiating a warm, positive emotional energy that permeates the whole machine.

well, in some years that won't be a topic anymore. adobe will be pc only by then, and apple will drop macbook / imac / mac pro support, as they only want their ipad scenario where they can sell you everything and have 100% control.

if, by then, logic isn't arm based, and other apps, well, byebye

:) say hi to the 1984-world of apple.
