Compressors on Sends?
Compressors on Sends?
I admit compressors are not my strong side among the audio tools, thus im very careful with it. At the moment im using a channel strip type rack with Lives eqs, limiter and compressor, on every channel. But lately ive started to run out of ram! (XP w/2gb) Amongst others because using heavy 3rd party compressors on some tracks. I suspect the Virus Ti vst interface eats a lot of ram. Its recently become part of the template. It crashed 3 times last night due to ram overload! CPU is no problem though. (quad core) Maybe its better having 2 standard "bread and butter" compressors on 2 sends. What do you think, is it practical? Im thinking 2 sends with compressors: one "fast", and one "slow".
