Hi,

Im just looking for some suggestions or info to make an informed choice. Im in the process of selling my CDJ's to fund a pair of KRK's and an APC40 so i can do better mixing and start dj'n through live (APC40 looks amazing, doubt i would have considered a switch from CDJ's without that).

The set up of all this new gear is new to me. I know i need to buy a USB audio interface but as for what features it requires, im totally lost. I will need it for my KRK's, APC40 and M-Audio USB keyboard. What inputs/outputs etc will it need and can anyone make any reasonably priced suggestions??

On a slightly different note, would my headphones also connect to the interface and how do i cue tracks through ableton (never used it for DJ'n yet).

i use an Native instruments audio 2 DJ USB soundcard, works great and is inexpensive it can be set up to give 2 outputs deck a/b to a dj mixer or if your mixing it all internaly in live 1 output goes to the speakers the other to your headphones.

It has 6 inputs (8 using S/PDIF), 8 software returns, 6 outputs (8 if using S/PDIF) and 2 headphones jacks. (Note that the headphone jacks are somewhat specialized.) It has 1 MIDI in and out. It is small and easy to carry - I put it in the case with my laptop.

It has a nice piece of software that can be used as a mixing board, which is cool. However, I can not control it with an external device like a midi foot pedal, which is a drag.

I have Live 8 sets that have my VST's loaded in them and I can control volume and track selection either with Live 8 or with the M-Audio control panel software. I have both pieces of software open and use them together.

Using this device I send guitar signals to my guitar amp and synth sounds to my keyboard amp.
