I ve been using Live 7 for 2 yr s now and today when I opened Live it tells me " Live has identified a copy protection violation please contact support.
So I e-mailed them but it will be awhile before I get a response.
Yes, I bought Live and have a valid serial key and challenge code and all that.
But I cant even open the app
Has this happened 2 anyone else? :(

This just happened to me today also!

Been a paid user for about 4 years, plus bought SAMPLER

All my reg info is in my Ableton account and looks ok with serial numbers etc

Why on earth has this just shown up??

fucked up, imagine this would have happened while performing live...

i think it's humiliating to contact support when your activations have run out but this takes the cake. hope the support guys sort you out asap.

Exactly what im thinking!!

I dont mind this happening for all the crack users who havent paid - but legit users who have serials and supported the software is a bit shite!!

Knocked my confidence a bit now in Ableton!!

Man where do you find it Humiliating????
you paid for the software so you have rights, and customer care is there for this.

When you run out of authorizations, you directly receive an email which advice you about the situation.

Let them time to answer you.

My 7 runs perfectly but I've upgraded to suite and have authorized several days ago.

I honestly feel the best about their customer service... they've always tried to do their best to answer for any problems, questions and even more.

Be patient

Just a reminder  For unlocks, mail [email protected]

and mail [email protected] for anything else

That wasn't the case last time i ran out of auths but i have to admit that it's been awhile.
I think that's a new "feature".

Nowadays there's also the full demo version should my comp go up in flames on a weekend with no auths left so i'm unlikely to get stuck.

Still, serial number protection should be enough - works for Cakewalk and Reaper, right?

And that seemingly random copy protection violation stuff makes me feel a bit uneasy to be honest.

new feature maybe, I see it everytime because I always install live twice.
One on my desktop and one on my laptop, this way I always run out of authorizations in a way.

There's then an "automatic" mail from [email protected] which advice me in the minutes I've installed the second copy.

I would not like to have this copy violation stuff.
Believe me that I'm all with you on this.

I hope they will quickly reply to everyone with this freaking problem

Hi just a question regarding this...

I have Ableton installed on a crappy PC Desktop. I just got access to a second hand mac laptop which will run Ableton alot better, and I will shortly be purchasing a new PC Desktop with quad core.

I have purchased Ableton and have it only installed on the crappy desktop. I want to install it on the Mac laptop while I wait for my new PC to be built. When I get my new pc desktop im going to throw out my old computer. However, that will mean I use two of my auths. How do I deactivate one of my auths so I can install ableton on my new PC desktop?

Should I just go ahead and install it on my Mac? Im just a bit wary now!!

Thanks if any of you guys can help.

Jesse

just explain your case to [email protected] and they will gently provide you a brand new pair of authorizations ;)
you don't have to worry.

Best.
