Live 4.04 (PC) and FX Teleport

Post by rictheobscene » Wed Oct 27, 2004 2:24 pm

Hi:

I have posted in the past regarding the fact that Live will not host an FX Teleport wrapped VST effect. My previous posts have not garnered any sort of official response, and I am hoping that this one will.

Is FX Teleport something that Live intentionally does not support or plan to support?

Is this something Live is supposed to support but doesn't? If so, how can I help you remedy this?

I am going to keep using Live regardless of its FX Teleport support policy. If Ableton does not choose to support it, I am not going to get my panties in wad and throw a fit. I am simply looking for an answer. If the answer is no, please let me know so I stop getting my hopes up with each new release / patch.

Live is a fine product, and Ableton is a choice company. I am very happy with Live overall, I just want a bit of information.

Just curious, as I was planning on using FX teleport to move my reverb plug onto an unused PC on my network: How does FX teleport fail? Have you been able to make it work on your network using a different host? Thanks.

It locks up Live

When I try to insert an FX Teleport wrapped plug into Live, it locks up. Usually task manager will allow me to kill off Live.

I have used FX Teleport successfully in Cubase SX (1,2,3), Cubase SE, Cubase VST 5.1r1, Sonar, Tracktion, and V-Stack.

It would be nice with some serious answers from the team, thats for sure-Teleport & Magmas more&more important these days, with PCI-X coming up (too) fast :? , and seems like the only solution, if you wanna continue to use DSP-cards; they wont change to PCI-X, and they are pretty expensive..I'm talking about UAD & TC Poco, tho..

In searching through previous posts others claim to be using FX teleport and Live. I will load FXT on my system next week to test - maybe ricktheobscene's experience is not universal...

There is nothing in Live that should prevent FX Teleport to not run. There is no policy about it, except that we support FX Max to make FX Teleport run in Live. We haven't heart from them yet what the problem might be.

Perhaps you could give this a try:wormhole

I only have one machine, so I couldn´t try it out, but perhaps it works in Live, the other apptrigga plug works well here.

I don't mind being told that I am wrong about this one. If someone gets it running, share some love and help a brother out.

I want to say thanks to Frank Hoffman for chiming in, that was what I was looking for.

I stand corrected

My bad.

I formatted my HDD and reinstalled all my software. FX teleport is now working marvelously with Live. Obviously, the problem was in my system and not in Live. I apologize for the misinformation on my part.
