Live8 seems to just get tired, poor baby, after a couple of hours of use. Gets buggy crazy or maybe crashes. Quitting and restarting doesn't seems to help. I haven't tried rebooting my mac, shouldn't have to.

Can an .als get dirty and old?

My template set is a save-as of a save-as of a save-as hundreds of generations backward through about 4 years. I do that so I don't have to remap all my midi controls.

Crazy thought but is it possible?

I'm curious too. unless it makes me look unsmart.

Would love to hear from an Abe. Can a set get corrupted in some way with too much left-over information from previous incarnations? Yes I know nothing about software.

Anything past 25 is really pushing it. If it has to be done, it has to be done, but you're taking a big risk.

JK I have no idea whatsoever. Good question. I'm gonna guess that it makes no difference at all, it's not a lot of information really (pan settings etc.) If for some reason your live set file gets corrupted then yeah that file is damaged and it's time to cry in your beer, but I don't think save as would have any affect on files, it's just a file.

I'm gonna roll with a big NO unless you have a disk error, which would be caused by a crappy Mac hard drive just kidding. Serious about the disk error though. Unless something is corrupted by the program or something else failing during that save, such as a fault within the hardware, I believe you really are in essence getting a duplicate file created with the "file already exists, overwrite" OK, CANCEL bit politely left out by the OS because you have an update/overwrite vs. a create new scenario. The original data as far as location, date created etc. are the same but some of the info stored within the file is different now. The only limitation should be the state of the media the file is being written to and the dependability of the tool its being written with.

Same nail, same nail hole, same hammer. If any one of those changes during the process your woodshop project is likely shite.

are you useing a pc or mac. im not sure about macs

but this guy is right
you need to try disk check and make sure your hard drives are ok. you also might want to make sure everything is closed and clear you temp folder as well
