Hi I haven't got Max 4 Live yet but I'm thinking of buying it.
If I have two control surfaces hooked up can max 4 live lock a specific surface to a specific device programatically?

this would be most useful, however, i don't see why it shouldn't be part of Live itself. Afterall, many users will want to access parameters on several different tracks using several different controllers for LIVE USE of Live.
It's in the name, it should be part and parcel of its capabilities, without having to buy Max4Live.

If I understand your question, you could do it by midi-learning the parameters of the device you want to control with your surface, without needing m4l.

Midi learn is fine if you have one or two devices but surface locking comes into its own when you have loads of devices in a chain. Add to that the Remote SLs parameter name/value display on the LEDs and it makes auto surface locking a much sort after feature.
