connecting an instrument eg, guitar, turntables

hi, does anyone know how to connect a guitar or turntables to live 8 or apc40 for use with looper
you need an audio interface for this...if you have that....
select the interface as your audio input in live preferences (hit config button and make sure inputs are lit up), then on an audio track select ext. IN then IN 1/2 or whatever you plugged your instrument into....arm the track to record and you're good to go
