hi rutgermuller,
Sorry for the problems. To dig deeper, I'd need more informations:
- do you have a particular Live set with which the problem occurs?
- which Live build-in effects and instruments are contained in the set?
- does the set contain VST/AU-Plugins and if, which and which version?
- do you have attached MIDI hardware?
best wishes,
matthias

This happens to me too. Live crashes everytime I try to select my audio interface in preface ( I have different interfaces at home in the eve and in the studio during the day, so I need to change the preface everytime I open a set)
After the crash I get a serious program error message, then when I reopen the set I'm able to select the interface 9 times out of ten. Sometimes it happens again tho.
Happens in every set. Only using ableton reverberations & eq

hi,
I tried on PC and MAC and changeing the sample rate worked fine for me. Maybe you could send me some crashlogs directly to
[email protected]. In your email, please reference this thread and include
a zip file containing all crashlogs (Crashlogs are located in <your home folder>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter (OS X 10.5) or <your home folder>/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports (OS X 10.6)), and
a zip file of the folder <your home folder>/Library/Preferences/Ableton.
best wishes,
matthias

i tried to recreate this error
- Made a new set: added some audio files in the arrangement.
-Warped them a bit (complex pro).Started changing sample rates like 5 times.... and suddenly the speed of playback and the pitch start changing! 441.000 slowest 960.000 fastest.
-Plus another bug on top of that: sometimes the number of the sample rate doesn't change when the sample rate DOES change. Even when I go in and out preferences I still see the old number.
- Changed to beat warping in stead of complex pro to see if that is the problem and now I can't press play anymore!
- Saved project
- Closing Live won't work, keeps loading...
- Force quit
- Open project
- Changing sample rates works fine
- Change clips warping to Complex Pro
- CRASH!! (complex pro bug?)
- Opened Project again
- Changed rates with complex pro clips.... after changing it for like 5 times the playback speed screws up
- Tested it with beat warping... same problem. So complex pro is not the main problem!
Maybe my presonus Firebox is the main issue here. (OS X Snow Leopard, Live 8, Firebox)

hi rutgermuller,
thank you very much for your feedback.
I tried on PC as you described which worked fine. I will check ASAP on a MAC + presonus Firebox.
Btw. did you get crashreports? This would be a great help.
best wishes,
matthias

hi rutgermuller,
I warped a clip in arranger using complex pro and beats on OSX 10.4.11 with Presonus FireBox + latest drivers. I changed the sample rate and latency error compensation in preferences quite often. Also switch to and from beats<->complex pro. This did not crash Live. It would really help us if you would seek for the crashlogs OSX creates when Live crashes.
best wishes,
matthias

yeah so it's an old topic but as it turns out, i have a similar bug.
although my interface starts to crackle up and bugout completely when editing/consolidating samples on random occasions, and switching the samplerate to something else, then back again solves it. this only happens with live so it's obviously not my interface.
