hmm... pretty interesting. This looks pretty cool. I'm going to try the demo and see if it's worth it. Thanks for the link!

This actually produces some nice sounds. I don't think it has multiple outs *(this does have multi-outs)*, which is disappointing, but It does have onboard FX, so that helps.

Now, if only Microtonic could be updated in a similar way (or even similar to AudioDamage's Tattoo), then I'd be very happy!

Anyway, for a mere $13, this thing is a steal. I don't know when the deal ends and I don't know how much they'll charge once it does end, but it probably won't ever be this cheap again.

If anyone else knows this information, please post it!


edit (as far as I can see... the onboard fx consist of EQ, Limiter, and Lo-Fi).

**Edit #2** Thanks to STRATEGY_510, I now know this does have multi-outs! Now go get some drum goodness cheap!

Says on the site the deal is until March 31st, so there's quite a bit of time.

First impressions of the demo: the sounds are quite nice, but right now I have no idea what 80% of the parameter names mean. I suppose I'll learn eventually. Also, the CPU meter is kind of weird. Sometimes, it stays at 1-10%, other times it goes to 51% just by tweaking a simple knob. I actually had it crash and restart my laptop when I brought a knob down to 0% and hit a key once.

I hope to hear what others say about this, as I really like the interface and the sounds, but the crash it just did has kind of made me doubting if it's worth it. My laptop meets the requirements for it, so I wonder why it did it when nothing like that has ever happened to me.

oooh.

Just had a chance to briefly play with this, and I must say I am liking what I hear!

It *is* somewhat tricky to adjust, since the parameter names, as said above, are a bit difficult to suss. But I think this is an awesome companion vst to the Collision/Corpus set that Ableton does.

here's what I recorded. All drum/perc is Drumaxx, the two synth sounds are two BubbleSound uLFO through the QMMG, sampled and dubbed out in Live. Whole thing took like 30 minutes to do.
Snares and clap are bussed out, ducked a bit and effected, then mixed back into the Group of drums again.

I've previously gotten rid of NI Battery, as I'm not keen on drum samples, no matter how well layered they are, so this is perfect. I'd much rather have a synth do the job any time and what with this being capable of acoustic sounds....so much the better.

Nice! I'll have to update my post...

I bought it today and just played around with some presets. It's pretty great, and I can definitely see myself using it a lot in the future, but does anyone else get a lot of CPU usage when using a boomy kick sound? I was cycling through the presets, and I noticed that a lot of the bigger, lower, and boomy kick sounds crackle and bring up the CPU to about 50%. Anyone else experience this?

I played around with it for 10 minute last night and like it too, has anyone launched it in standalone?

I tried to, but couldn't find it after install? Maybe I'm just being dense. Anyone?

Will check again when I get home..

I hope they are going to fix the clunky gui behaviour on OS X. Don't know if IL is really into Mac programming. Soundwise, it's one of the most innovative plugin I've seen for a long time.

Anyone tried this in Snow Leopard? The site only says Tiger and Leopard.


I'm tempted to buy it just to support this company for even trying to write to OS X and doing this cool new pricing model.

I can't find the standalone either. I don't think there is one; it says on their site that there is a standalone version, but it must be a mistake because I've seen this question on other forums and no one has found it yet.

I don't think there is one either... Image-Line tends to standardize the way products are viewed on their website even when the information shown, is actually irrelevant.
