go post your crap somewhere else, this is a music forum, no one cares about your personal opinions or stupid politics, there are enough political forums around, go and put down your spam there please and try to keep this forum clean and not to waste Abletons web space for nothing.

tnx for your understanding

i'm not interested in assigning microkontrol pads to Impulse either.
how do i show my "icouldcarelessness"? i don't click on the threads that say microkontrol. Wow what a concept.
If you aren't interested in politics don't click on the political threads.

If you can't see that its more pollutant to the board to demand not posting things than to just ignore them, then you have more problems than disinterest in politics.

Right now I feel like politics in general are getting really old. I am going to move to antartica, and eat snow for the rest of my life. Only problem is, I need some pretty serious photovoltaic cells, and some badass low-temp batteries. And a really nice jacket.

I think the odd political thread definately has a place on a music forum, but then music and politics have always, for some people anyway, been bedfellows. It's interesting to see what people think, even if it raises a few hackles.

People of the intelligence neccesary to code something like Ableton Live are probably just as horrified at what's going on in the world as a lot of other sensitive and peace loving musos on this forum, I don't see much moderating going on.

Right, let's get back to figuring out how to hook those controllers up and stuff like that. Oh yes, I forgot, the manual!

Yep - dont worry the Elections nearly over - I'm glad it's stirring something up, if it didn't I really would lose hope in humanity because this is a particularly trying time in history for our generations - I'm a musician and Audio Engineer - it's what I do, Live is my main tool and I've got hooked into this forum

I dont see "OT" as that difficult to come to grips with

I make music so I can get away from the druge of daily life.. war, 24 hour evil reports on CNN and the like.

PLease stop the political threads. Let's focus on what we have in common (Live) as opposed to where we may have differences.

I dont want this forum to turn into the cubase forums.

don't worry folks it'll all be over soon. either kerry will win and everything will quiet down, or bush will win and lead us into the end times, but either way, it'll all be over soon.

Yes, the actual election doesn't really matter anyway, as its a formality. Nickelodeon has an election every year before the real election and they have successfully picked the last 4 elections.

The winner?

interesting, i personally make music as an expression of how i feel about daily life. without Life, what can art imitate? other art? blah no one wants regurgitated art.

lets just say that i write better music with the daily world in mind rather than how the warping features in Live vs. Cubase SX and Logic in mind. Which threads do you realllllllly think are going to be more inspiring?

Adam is absolutely spot on.

I went through a phase trying to spend as much time on music as I could and just working in the real world as little as possible and while I learned alot technically and played with alot of software, it was one of the most uninspired times of my life in terms of output.

Music is a response and reflection - it can be an escape as well, but without that input there's nothing to work with

wow, that's a spitting image of what i went through.
Some of the best music i ever wrote in my life was while i was working 60 hours a week, and all i did was Work, Write, and Sleep. It was really the only thing that kept me sane through that period of my life. So while it was daily life that made me frustrated, nothing else inspired me as much as that frustration.

Then i had some success with my music, was able to quit my job(s), and do music full time. Funny how i was 5 times less productive during that period even though i had 60 more hours a week free, and really nothing else to do.

Now a family member is sick, i have financial stress again, and of course there's those idiots in Washington DC. i'm reading more and watching tv less. so the music starts pouring out once more.

If music is your life 100%, then your music will sound 100% unoriginal. What makes us individuals is our experiences with life. Art imitates life, not the other way around.

looking at what this thread has morphed into, now wouldn't have been more PRODUCTIVE to start a thread about artistic inspiration, rather than "Stop these political bullshit spam threads here please" ?

and how nice of you to insult members of the forum by calling their contributions "bullshit" but asking them nicely with a "please".

get a fucking life please.
