Come all ye maestros that know all about the ableton live for i have a bunch of problems i need some help with and i have been tinkering without any success

Problem 1: Well here i will describe my issues, my set up is an audigy 4, novation xiosynth, I use asio for all vs2 And i am having trouble recording stuff like this. Well, what i used to do was plug in a line from a guitar/mic/synth into the xiosynth and we would get a sound, well now my new issue is this. I bought a 10 dollar 1/8th to 1/4th converter for the guitar, not for hte mic, i plug it back into the computer. And it plays the issue it will not record from ableton itself. It shows the green thing going up and down, showing that it has sound, but it does not do is record. It shows just a blank line, is this a problem with ableton live or the sound card or asio for all.
Problem 2:
When I am playing with reason and ableton at the same time, it records perfect sounds crisp for a minute then static picks up, so i need to fuck around with asio4all for a second, and the sound is good again. How the hell do i keep it from doing this.
Problem 3:
I am having issues playing reason and ableton at the same time. It gets staticky Or, problem one happens, and i cannot record at all.

Well thank you all for checking this out any help would be greatly appreciated.

because, also i have two ways to change it i think the asio 4 all and then ableton is stuck at 524 buffer.

Are you using a preamp or running your guitar through a mixer to your audio card ? Recording guitar into a line in otherwise is at the wrong impedance. (in terms of the audigy at least, not sure about the xiostation).

My suggestion would be to buy an audio interface which has a proper guitar input (Hi Z) and with XLR/combi jacks. Or get a preamp or something which fixes the problem to allow you to go into a line input.
