I was an idiot and set my VST scan directory to "c:/program files" now everytime i run live 4 it takes forever to load then crashes. is there any way I can abort the VST scan so i can get in and change it? I'm useing windows XP so I can't just rename program files. Tryed reinstalling. I've tryed moving as many folders to another place but some things can't be moved. Still crashes on boot. THX all. I'll try to be more intelegent in the future.

How about deleting the preferences files? I'm not at my Live machine now, so I don't remember exactly what's in there...

Delete the "Preferences.cfg" and if available the "VstScanInfo.cfg" from this path:

Windows (Live 4): (C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Ableton\Live 4\Preferences
