Automation snap to grid?

Hi,
I know this is basics but I can't seem to get this to work - is it possible to get automation lines to snap to the chosen grid (e.g 1/16) when not using draw mode? At the moment I'm having to zoom right in to make sure any automation that I want perfectly aligned to the grid is correct. I'm refering to the arrangement view and not clip envelopes.
Thanks.

I really thought this would have been be implemented before now, being such a basic feature. Thanks for letting me know.

This would be a great feature. Something like ctrl+click to snap. I use the pencil method to set breakpoints to grid as a workaround.

just select the area you want to automate and move the "line" up/down
points will be snapped to grid
at the end this may be faster and better

I agree, select a range, drag the envelope bar up then delete (double-click) any extra points you don't need.
Then in addition to this, I use Ctrl-Left-Click to drag the points up/down vertically. (The Ctrl key seems to lock the evelope points so that they wont move from side-to-side.)

yep miss this too. but I guess if we look at abletons good work in the past we can expect an enhanced automation system in live 9 (at least I hope for it).

I just figured this out... take the automation line point, switch to draw mode for one second... widen the grid and zoom to find the point you want, then use draw to snap to it... now, get out of draw mode, delete the extra breakpoints created and, now you have an automation point snapped to a grid... it would be nice to simplify this... but it is indeed possible without the extra feature.. cheers

I try not to be too much of a feature slut but this really does need to be implemented in Live 9.

hahaha, yes, this should be in the next version. Problem with selecting range and moving the line: you don“t see the actual value. And problem with drawing: I dunno if I am stupid, but try to draw a curve with values between 67 and 100. Do you see what I see? Is that a joke?

would love dots (points) snap to grid without selecting area first and moving or rec first and delete later...

In theory if you move selected points up or down it should snap to grid but in reality it only works for a small number. Try to do it for thousands of points, which is what it should do, well, on my machine (big macpro) it freezes for some time and does not do the job at the end.
In addition, when doing it only with a few points, instead of interpolating between the points, it resamples and makes a stair kind of curve very bad and useless.
