For the love of Jehova, can somebody hook me up with a short spinback sample?
Go on, you know you've got one you could spare.
(currently listening to an old Eddie Halliwell Mixmag CD, it's my last chance to find one on my own CDs, 4 tracks into the mix, not sure if I can take much more)
Cheers

you could do this with an audio editor. get some music, reverse it, then do a pitch envelope from very high to very low.

Cheers for the reply.
My audio editor doesn't have envelopes.
Just tried it with a sample in Live, hmmmm, didn't work very well, maybe poor choice of sample. I'll keep experimenting.
Meanwhile, anyone with decks wann record me one? Or point me to a sample?
Throw me a bone here anyone?

Ta for the ideas.
Didn't find anything on freesound.
Turntablist looks worth a try, see it's now for Mac too, tho still a beta.
Any real turntablists wanna do me a spinback and post it here?

i use it on a mac, works a treat and you can do 'the real thing' sound wise with any sound you desire, give it a try!

change the location from user to system plugs, or the other way around.
some plugs on mac are fussy if they are in the system or user path.

OK, gave up on the VST, downloaded the AU - wow! that's cool. let's see if I can get something usable out of it tomorrow.

good call on YouTube, that's another option. I'll hunt around there tomorrow and see if there's anything better than what I come up with in Turntablist.
Jo tao, as they say in this neck of the woods.

start a new live session.
import the song you want to affect on to an audio track in the arrangement view.
select the portion of audio you want to "spin back."
crop the sample.
duplicate it so that you have 2 clips adjacent to each other.
reverse the second one.
do not warp the first clip.
set the warp mode of the second one to "re-pitch."
select "song tempo" on the master track and draw automation starting at the very beginning of the second clip OR map the tempo box at the top left to a knob and record some automation.
the first clip isnt necessary to keep, its just there to give you a good idea of what it would sound like in a song.
bounce the results of the second clip and throw it where you wanted it.
anyway, that's just what i would do.
