big problems with Live 8 and Minimonsta

I'm on a Mac Pro running 10.5.8/Live 8.1.1/latest minimonsta
Minimonsta VST behaves very strangely/unusable in Live 8. If I click on a different preset in Minimonsta's browser, the GUI becomes becomes "frozen" and Live beach-balls for at least good 10-15 seconds. That's if I'm lucky - other times I've had Live crash or I've had to force quit.
Of course, the simple workaround is to use the AU instead but I thought I'd point out this odd behavior. No problems with any other VSTs (well at least not as obvious as this one). I've tried the VST in both Reaper and Studio One and it works just fine.
