PSA: Blue Mikey + iPod Touch 2G = No worky.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to pass this nugget of information onto the masses.
Tonight I picked up a Blue Mikey for my ipod touch (I'm not cool enough for the iphone). I was very disappointed to discover that even with the appropriate software installed, these two will not work together. The ipod connector on the mic is too short to actually fully connect and be recognized by the ipod touch.
You've been warned. No awesome field recordings for a while.

Is this the 1st gen Mikey, or the new one?

There's a new one?!?!?!
First gen. I had no idea they were releasing an updated version. I'm on the Blue site at the moment, and I don't think the new one is out yet.
If I get my hands on one, or more information, I'll post it here.

Waiting for the new one myself, quite an improvement over what was already a nice product.

Better quality recordings, able to take louder recordings, line input.
